Ashley Grimes

Ashley Grimes is a dedicated attorney who strives to expand her experience into various diverse areas so that her legal skills are set upon a foundation of strong education, continuous research, and continuous study of new legal concepts. Ashley Grimes completed her bachelor’s degree at ASU, majoring in Communication with a minor in Political Science. She has worked in various fields to expand her experience across several areas of interest in the legal community and the community at large. Ashley worked at a Crisis Nursery, a children’s shelter, for 5 years while obtaining her undergraduate degree and gained valuable insight into CPS (Child Protective Service) cases and how they are dealt with. She has a passion for helping those who are often overlooked and she is dedicated to giving back to the community in meaningful ways.

While obtaining her law school degree at Arizona Summit Law School (formerly Phoenix School of Law), Ashley worked as a Web Producer, Marketing and Communications Assistant, and Legal Clinician. She received a CALI award for “Excellent Achievement in the Study of Workers’ Compensation Law” and she completed an externship at Taylor and Associates during her last year in law school. During Ashley’s employment as a Legal Clinician, she worked in the areas of: Human Rights and Immigration Law, Mediation, Veterans’ Tax, and Veterans’ Legal Assistance. She focused on work in Immigration after going through the process of filing for permanent residency with her husband, a German Citizen. Ashley believes that Immigration Law can be daunting for individuals and is an area where many are often taken advantage of. She is dedicated to helping clients with Immigration and USCIS communications.

Ashley obtained mediation training through her law school and is a certified mediator, having successfully mediated multi-party and dual-party mediation cases without ever failing to aid the parties in reaching a final agreement. She also has a very strong understanding of technology law due to her extensive research and work in the field. Ashley has worked as a web producer for over 5 years and completed work as an independent contractor for Google through Google Adsense prior to and during law school. After law school, Ashley worked for a well known American Technology Entrepreneur, Jeff Peterson, as a law clerk for one of his companies, Inter123.

During her employment with Inter123, Ashley completed legal research and writing for various issues involved within a tech start-up company environment. She also worked on technology implementation proposals for the board of directors, research related to money transmitter licensing on the state and federal level, and review of NDA’s, investment contracts, and freelance contracts. Ashley has engaged in communication with government entities such as FINCEN and administrative entities such as ICANN to move company projects forward while ensuring compliance with government, licensing, and administrative regulations. She has a very broad knowledge in technology law as a result of her history with web design, virtual world legal analysis and research, programming, hardware, and technology research. Ashley’s main areas of focus for client representation are: Technology Law, Business Law, Immigration, Workers’ Compensation, and Criminal Law.

Currently, Ashley Grimes is the Owner of Grimes Law PLLC and also works as In House Counsel in Compliance for various technology companies. She has worked primarily as In House counsel for various clients starting in 2014.
